Riverland is the gateway to Dubai Parks & Resorts. The entire place is divided into 4 zones – The French Village, Boardwalk, India Gate, and The Peninsula . It’s a themed, fun, dining and retail destination where you can reach with a parking fee of 50 dhs , without purchasing an entry ticket ( keep in mind after 6:30 PM parking is free and if you want entry for theme parks like Bollywood Park /Legoland /Motiongate charges are applicable).
Once we got inside Riverland we be taken to a different world , I felt ‘Is it a lost City in dessert ?? ‘ with the look and feel of buildings ,walkway and the refreshing cool breeze from the man-made river was totally breathtaking !!! Let’s come back to Bol Gappa .
This restaurant is conveniently located near the Bollywood Park . And moreover the legendary Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan on the Bol Gappa placard will make your job easy by directing your way. Though it has indoor and outdoor dining choices we preferred to sit inside.
Once we got inside Bol Gappa you will instantly say ‘WOWWW’ with walls adorned with Bollywood movie posters on one side other half with imprinting movie names ,dialogues and a big screen playing Hindi songs to make your feet move between bites .
Their menu too was surprising, they named dishes after Bollywood movies like Amar Akbar Anthony ,Yo yo Honey Singh Chilly Mushroom and so on..Interesting rite..ya it is !!!!
Picking up the menu with fancy names was not an easy job,Thanks to Pradeep , the energetic manager who was ready to offer any help ,clarifying our doubts and for helping us to choose the scrumptious menu .
We had some of the most astounding dishes from the menu like ‘Masst Room Twist’ -it’s a soup of roasted mushroom, I was not at all a fan of Mushroom soup because of my prior experience. Thanks to chef for making the soup in a way that I finished the full cup, creamy soup with lots of mushroom pieces partnered with baked bread was just divine.
From Starters we picked ‘Amar Akbar Anthony Cheese Baguette’ inspired by Indian movie name, the dish came in an upside down umbrella bowl, bread was so fresh topped with trio colored peppers ,cheese and herbs .. Though I wish if they had added some more cheese nevertheless the accompanied fries was spot on .(Fact :used trio colored peppers , that’s why named the dish AMAR AKBAR ANTHONY 🙂 )
In between they served our drinks ‘Pink N perky and Citrus Sparkle’ , my personal pick is for the latter one totally yummy and refreshing.
Under Chaat Bazaar we tried ‘Balam Puchkari ‘(Pani puri ) the very popular Indian ‘Chaats’ known for tantalizing our taste buds with its sour ,sweet and spicy flavors – food journey can’t complete without this magical treat . .if you have not tried this yet, do try it!! Feel it!!! No doubt you can’t stop with just 1 crispy puri with spicy potato filling and chilled masala water .I must say Bol Gappa team has done total justice to ‘Balam Puchkari’ .
Next on table came a small blue colored Pull cart (wonder with the creativity people have !!!! ) loading ‘Palak Dikhlaja Chaat’ this dish is nothing but batter fried Spinach leaves tossed with Chaat masala and mint sauce for dipping. It’s the first time I have tasted fried spinach in this way and totally hit the spot.
How can we finish our meal without the authentic Indian food Pav Bhaji named here on menu ‘Bhaji Pao Maskani ‘- dream for food lovers especially Indians , every bite of it is worth drooling for .The irresistible bhaji with full of flavors accompanied with super soft buttered mini pav/bun plus raw onions ,lemon wedges for that extra kick served in a fondue pot was a paradise for me , I will come again for this mouth-watering dish.
We conclude our captivating journey to Bol Gappa with a sweet treat ,my dearest pick ‘Mango Phirnee Mousse ‘, this gorgeous mango phirnee served in martini glass was so fresh, creamy ,smooth and flavorful ; no doubt my taste buds had a carnival with this .
We as a family totally relished our food journey to Bol Gappa with reasonable price , great taste and generous service , truly recommend this restaurant to all food lovers and wishing the entire team of Bol Gappa all success .
